A company’s intangible assets are often important and can easily be forgotten. It is important to ensure that these assets belong to and remain in the company.
KLA has a wide range of experience of how a company’s intellectual property can be cultivated and managed in order to give the best possible added value; issues that are often of crucial importance to our clients in sectors such as, IT & telecoms and sport & entertainment. We are legal advisors to a number of advertising agencies but we also represent individual artists, entertainers and sportsmen and women.
KLA also has expertise in the media sector and we can provide advice on areas such as the Fundamental Law on Freedom of Expression and the Freedom of the Press Act. We have comprehensive experience of the majority of contract forms and industry agreements in use in the media industry.

A lawyer’s assessment of what constitutes good marketing does not always coincide with that of the marketer. The fact is that marketing that contravenes Swedish legislation can prove expensive – both in terms of financial damage and bad publicity.
The regulatory framework for marketing is enormous, covering the Marketing Practices Act, the Price Indication Act, the Alcohol Act and the Act on Names and Pictures in Advertising. In addition to this, there are also standards and guidelines such as the Consolidated ICC Code of Advertising and Marketing Communication Practice, as well as general advice and guidelines issued by government agencies.
KLA provides legal advice to advertising agencies, media companies and industry organisations. We also have a wealth of experience of marketing law disputes at the Swedish Market Court.
KLA is a member of Adlaw, a global network of law firms specialising in advertising and marketing law. Adlaw’s members, all specialising in matters of marketing and advertising law, operate in around 25 countries, and via this network we are able to offer advice on complicated, international issues.
